The Medium is the Massage

“The Media is the Massage” (1967) and “War and Peace in the Global Village” (1968) were both written by media theorist Marshall McLuhan. The third book, “A.I. and You,” was my prediction of something McLuhan might have written today with how society and technology have changed in the last fifty years.

The inspiration for this book cover series came from 1960s and 70s textbook covers, tarot cards, playing cards, and posters. I juxtaposed the vintage and older style of the design with the futuristic and digital topics of the books and the illustrations.
